James Flynn

James Flynn began his teaching career in 2003 at Orville H. Platt High School in Meriden, Connecticut. In 2009, he won the National Milken Educators Award for Connecticut. In 2013, Flynn represented Meriden Public Schools in San Antonio for the International Society for Technology Education and presented with a colleague on blended learning. Since then, he has presented on blended learning and student centered learning at UCONN's Ipad Summit, Nellie Mae Education Foundation Conferences, the Cas Alliance District Conference, the New England Secondary School Consortium, and Meriden's Blended Learning Summit. Flynn worked with Jobs for the Future to create professional modules on student voice and engagement. For the past two years he was the Personalized Learning Experience Coordinator at Platt, and is now the Social Studies Department Chairperson. Flynn is also the Cross Country coach, a Zoning Board of Appeals member and most importantly a proud husband and father of three.
